What is Hypertension?
Arterial hypertension is the maintained elevation of the systolic and/or diastolic arterial pressure. The systolic reading is the amount of pressure exerted during contraction of the heart to impel the blood. The diastolic reading is the amount of pressure exerted during relaxation of the heart and is the minimum pressure in the ciculatory system. Hypertension in itself is not deadly but the fact that it increases the probability of suffering causal diseases such as stroke, heart attack, heart failure, retinal damage and kidney failure means that it should not go untreated. Hypertensive blood pressure readings are considered those above 130/85 mmHg when the body is in a normal restive state. Hypertension usually results because of constriction or obstruction of the arteries, which forces the heart to work harder to maintain blood flow throughout the body. There are many factors effecting blood pressure including age, ethnicity, genetics, weight and fitness level, sodium , caffiene and alcohol intake.
How Noni Effects Hypertension
There is significant data that demonstrates that noni is able to lower arterial hypertension. For more than 2000 years it has been used to treat numerous diseases in Panama, Polynesia, China, India and other places, many of which are related to high blood pressure. Testimonies of hypertensive people show that after taking noni, significant improvement in their blood pressure readings was obtained. Individual scientific studies by more than 50 health professionals worldwide indicate that noni is an effective anti-hypertensive agent, without negative side effects. Although scientists have been unable to fully explain how noni helps to lower arterial pressure, there are some hypotheses. It appears that several compunds in noni work synergystically to expand and give elasticity back to the blood vessels, thus allowing greater ease of blood flow.
Keeping Blood Pressure Down
Of course, if other controllable variables are ignored, then the benefits of noni may be relatively short lived. By starting or maintaining a suitable diet that is low in sodium, animal fats, caffiene and alcohol you have the best possible chance of keeping your blood pressure at a desirable level. Regular aerobic (low intensity) exercise will also benefit hypertensive people. Your doctor should keep a check on your blood pressure and can help treat it if it becomes high. If blood pressure remains high and the above criteria have been checked, it may be necessary to use some form of medication.
