What Is Maca?
Maca (Lepedium meyenii) is a small Andean root belonging to the radish family. This Peruvian herb has a 2,000 year old history as a powerful strength, libido and stamina enhancer. Maca is creating market demand in Japan, Europe and the U.S. and is poised to be a major botanical product on the international herbal scene. What is the difference between Maca powder, Maca Gelatinized and Maca Extract? Maca powder is plain Maca root that has been processed and packed. So, it is like a fruit that has been powdered and packed. Maca Gelatinized has gone thru the process of extrusion, or pushed thru a food processor at high velocity to avoid chemical constituents get damaged by the high temperature that is needed to make the Maca starch molecules smaller. The process of making starch molecules smaller is known as Maca gelatinization. This gelatinization makes it easier for the body to assimilate the product, but does not necessarily mean that it is a better product. However, Maca Gel unlike Maca powder is 90% soluble, so if you wish to prepare a drink without using a blender you are better off with Maca Gel. Maca Extract is a processed product that yields the same color and taste all the time. So, if you are soft drink manufacturer, then this is your best option since your final product (the drink) will always look and taste the same. Maca powder, since it is 100% natural, does not always come in the same color, nor the same taste. This is the same when you buy an apple at a food market, sometimes the apple is green and sometimes greener, another times it is sweet and other bitter. Moreover, this Maca extract is 99% soluble being a best option for soft drink making.

How can maca be taken?
Maca is considered a food; therefore, it can be ingested with, before, or after you eat your meal. The recommended dosage for maca is to take three (3) tablets with each meal, for a total of nine (9) tablets per day, with water or a shake, or up to 15 grams of powder per day( average of 3 teaspoons). Remember, Maca is a considered a food; therefore the dosage increments will not cause any harm. Maca extract should be taken in dosages of 1/2 teaspoon per day, or max 1/2 teaspoon the morning and 1/2 teaspoon with lunch.

Preliminary experiments also demonstrated promising results for energy, stamina and depression. Tests have demonstrated that effects are sometimes seen in as little as 6-8 hours after initial dose. An acute oral toxicity limit study also demonstrated the extract to be very safe.

DELIVERY

What are my shipping rates? Ordinarily, Andes Alternative Health Products ships only to the United States, to street addresses by USPS Priority. Shipping charges for purchases under 5 products is: $8.00 (within the United States).

When should I expect delivery?
Orders will usually be processed and shipped withing 48 hours. On especially heavy volume days your order may be delayed. If your order does not ship within 48 hrs we will attempt to contact you regarding the delay. Delivery usually takes from 5 to 10 days in the USA for Regular Ground service. If your order is of an urgent matter please place your order and then alert us by sending an e-mail including the subject rush order, and please choose the overnight mail option. RETURN/CANCEL POLICIES

What is your return policy? We accept returns for goods that were damaged upon arrival and that are returned to us within 14 days. Please contact us prior to returning goods to get a return identification number.
